SUNDROP DAYZ

SunDrop Dayz kicks off our summer annually on the first weekend in June. Established by Shawano County Leadership Class of 2016, this charity event donates all proceeds to local non-profits organizations. There is no cost to attend the event; live entertainment and kidz activitiez are also admission free, thanks to our local business sponsors! Craft vendors, food, beer, and soda are for sale.

SAM'S CLOSET

 

SAM's Closet-a thrift store locate within SAM 25, 105 E. Richmond Street, Shawano. Sam's Closet is a clothing resale store, open to the public. The store is entirely volunteer-run allowing all proceeds to benefit SAM25 Emergency Homeless Shelter, Resource Center and future Community Health Clinic.

saYPro is a Young Professional group for ages 21-39 in the Shawano County Area who are engaged in a career, and exemplify strong morals and ethics, and strive for personal and career related growth; achieved by experience, education and positive relationships.

Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day.

Shawano Area Food Pantry and Resource Center is a non-profit organization that is joined by local churches and other non-profit organizations to provide food and other resources to those in need in our community.

THE F.R.E.S.H. PROJECT

 

Using funding from an American Planning Association grant, the F.R.E.S.H. Project has:

  • Built a coalition of over two dozen people representing native nations, county government, community groups, churches, farmers and interested individuals;

  • Conducted a survey of more than 750 households and held six focus group listening sessions in Shawano County to better understand the challenges of having access to good food;

  • Created a series of recommendations that will make a positive impact on food security for all our area’s residents.
