Class of 2027 Application

The LEADERSHIP Shawano County Application is the primary tool used in participant selection.

  • Applications should be typed or printed.

  • Applications must be signed by candidate and by candidate’s employer.

  • Applications must be received at Leadership Shawano County, 1263 S Main Street, Shawano WI 54166 by July 17, 2026, to be considered.

  • Interviews will be scheduled the week of July 20, 2026.

  • All responses will be kept in confidence.

LEADERSHIP Shawano County selects applicants:

  • Who have demonstrated a sincere commitment, motivation, and interest in their community.

  • Who have the ability to set and attain goals as demonstrated by significant career, personal, and/or civic

    achievement.

  • Who have the availability of time to participate in the Leadership program with the full support of the corporation or organization he/she represents. (Commit at least one day per month plus the time needed for class preparation and the time needed to complete class project.)

  • Who represent a cross section of participants from business, the professions, agriculture, education, organized labor, government, arts, clergy, service and community organizations, and ethnic/minority groups by gender, age and community experience.
     

Commitment
To graduate from LEADERSHIP Shawano County, A PARTICIPANT IS EXPECTED TO ATTEND ALL SESSIONS IN THEIR ENTIRETY INCLUDING THE ORIENTATION, ALL FULL-DAY SESSIONS, AND GRADUATION.

Collaborative Leadership Styles: September 10, 2026
Natural Resources: October 8, 2026
Local and Tribal Government: November 12, 2026
Economic Development: December 10, 2026
Health Care & Wellness: January 14, 2027
Education, Youth and Lifelong Learning: February 11, 2027
State Government: March 11, 2027
Diversity: April 8, 2027
Citizen Participation: May 13, 2027
Graduation: June 10, 2027 (5:30 PM – 8:00 PM) Boarders Inn and Suites
MONTHLY SESSIONS ARE HELD THE 2 ND THURSDAY OF THE MONTH, 8:00 AM TO 4:30 PM.

TUITION/SCHOLARSHIPS

The cost of Leadership Shawano County is $1,000 per person. The tuition covers the costs of all sessions including educational materials, meals and breaks, bus transportation on field trips and graduation.

 Limited scholarships are available based on financial need.

​

Tuition is often paid by the participant's employer.  Some of the employers expect individuals to personally contribute a percentage of the fee.
